Description
Tarline XP is a 2×4-braided rope with a unique blend of materials, offering distinctive characteristics and versatile applications. Designed to resemble traditional tarred hemp, it combines a rustic aesthetic with the durability and performance of modern synthetic fibers.
Material and properties: Tarline XP is made from a blend of 70% dark brown Danline fiber and 30% olive green polyester multifilament, giving it a special hue reminiscent of tarred hemp. This material blend provides excellent abrasion resistance, high UV resistance, and a semi-floating capability—exhibiting partial buoyancy in water. The rope’s breaking elongation is approximately 20%, ensuring a balance between strength and flexibility.
Applications: Tarline XP is highly versatile and suitable for various uses, including:
- Running and Standing Rigging: Ideal for the sailing industry, it can be used for both running and standing rigging on sailing ships, offering durability and reliability.
- Mooring Lines: Perfect for mooring boats and ships, especially for older vessels where a traditional tarred hemp appearance is preferred with modern synthetic performance.
- Decorations: Its resemblance to tarred hemp makes it a sought-after choice for decorative projects, adding a rustic and traditional touch.
Advantages: Tarline XP combines the classic look of tarred hemp with modern materials, providing strength, abrasion resistance, and UV protection. This braided rope offers the benefits of synthetic fibers while maintaining a traditional aesthetic, making it a reliable and visually appealing choice for various applications.
