Description
Clipper 3-strand rope is a high-quality cordage with an impressive history, developed in-house and manufactured by AB Knut Westerbergs Repslageri. Here is a detailed description:
Material and properties: Clipper ropes are strong and abrasion resistant ropes, with a rustic look.
- Ring spun polyester: Clipper is made of 100% ring spun polyester yarns. This is a high quality fiber with excellent UV resistance and high breaking load. It is also very soft to the feel, resembling cotton in texture. The ropes are 3-strand and have a breaking elongation of approximately 25%. Its relatively high density means the ropes sink in water.
- High strength: ring spun polyester has outstanding strength and durability while maintaining excellent grip for securing knots. It also has excellent UV resistance properties making the ropes suitable for outdoor use.
- Rustic look: The combination of olive green and dark brown yarns makes these ropes look like tarred hemp ropes.
Applications: Clipper ropes have a variety of applications, and its versatility makes it a popular choice across different industries.
- Anchor & mooring: for old boats and wooden sailboats, it is often used as mooring and anchor rope for leisure boats due to its rustic look.
- Decoration: These ropes are an excellent choice for outdoor decorative purposes where you may want the look of a tarred hemp rope but need a more durable, synthetic alternative. These ropes also don’t smell and they don’t stick as tar does, so there is no risk of damaging clothes.
Advantages: Clipper is a reliable and proven cordage that has stood the test of time and continues to evolve and improve with multiple generations of rope makers. It is renowned for its strength, grip and durability, making it an excellent choice for various purposes, especially within the maritime and decorative industries.
