Description
Scanline is a type of rope made from a blend of fibers, with specific composition and properties.:
Material and properties: Scanline ropes are constructed with a blend of Danline fiber and polyester multifilament.
- “Silver ropes”: The ropes are also often called silver ropes and the combination of materials gives them a unique set of properties. Scanline typically has a color combination of light green and white, providing it with a distinctive and visible aesthetic.
- Sinking or floating: When mixed in a 50/50% ratio of Danline and polyester multifilament, the ropes do not float in water and have a density of 1.15 g/cm³. However, they can also be manufactured with different ratios to achieve floating Scanline ropes.
- Durability: The ropes have an elongation at break of approximately 20%. They are also known for their excellent UV resistance, making them suitable for outdoor use.
Application: Scanline is particularly suitable for the following purposes:
- In the fishing industry: Scanline is commonly used in the fishing industry for various applications. Its durability and strength make it a reliable choice for tasks such as mooring lobster pots.
- Anchoring lines for underwater equipment: Scanline can be used to secure equipment and objects located underwater. Its properties make it a robust rope capable of withstanding the stresses encountered in such environments.
- Buoy lines for fishing gear: Within the fishing gear industry, Scanline is used as buoy lines. Its durability and visibility in water make it a suitable choice for this application.
Advantages: Scanline benefits from combining the properties of Danline fiber and polyester multifilament. This unique composition provides the rope with a good balance of durability, UV resistance and strength, making it a versatile choice for various industries.
