Description

Paracord is a versatile and reliable cord suitable for various purposes such as knots, bracelets, lashings, repairs and much more.

Material and properties: Paracord is a cord with a core consisting of 7 parallel, twisted nylon twines and a braided sheath made of polyester multifilament. These cords are known for their flexibility and strength, making them suitable for a variety of uses.

  • Polyamide core: The parallel, twisted polyamide strands in the core ensure strength, elasticity and stretchability.
  • Polyester multifilament sheath: The 32-braided polyester multifilament sheath has excellent UV resistance, is waterproof, knot-friendly and maintains strength and abrasion resistance.
  • Loosely braided: The cords have a thin core relative to the sheath, making them soft and flexible.

Applications: Paracord, also known as 550 cord or parachute cord, derives its name from parachutists who use the cords as universal lines. Today, this type of cord is used in:

  • Crafts & Hobbies: The cords can be used for making bracelets, decorations, colorful patterns and artworks.
  • Bushcraft: Campers and survivalists use paracord for lashing, binding, repairing and knotting.
